June is Acne Awareness Month.

Acne is a condition that is near and dear to my heart. As many of you know I personally struggled with acne through my youth and then again after having my first child. Finding an aesthetician to help me with my skin is what led me to quitting my job and going back to school for aesthetics. I had a strong desire to help people with acne the way she had helped me. Acne is a social disease. It can affect confidence and for some can lead to depression. It can feel embarrassing for teens and adults alike.

This month our social media will focus on giving helpful tips on how to treat and care for acne. Acne must be treated with a skin care routine and lifestyle.

Acne education is extremely important when treating acne. Professional treatments are key in helping acne but so is doing your “homework” on a daily basis. The common mistake I see is clients not sticking with a routine long enough. One treatment and one month is not long enough to see a difference. Often times it takes 60-90 days of consistency to affect change. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Trust the process. We’re here to help!
